More than likely people would switch to the government drugs just because it would be safer. For one, if the government distributes it, it would not be illegal and therefore would make less risk for users, such as going to jail. It is also safer because the drugs would not be cut with potential toxins. In addition, the strengths of the substances would be closely monitored to make it less likely for an individual to overdose. From an ethical standpoint, if drugs were legalized, there would be a dramatic decline in crime not only in the U.S., but also around the world. On August 13th 1792, Marie Antoinette was imprisoned first in the Temple with her family and later in the Conciergerie.
